Huntington, WV  – The Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce announces Tricia Ball, President & CEO, will be transitioning to a new role as the Executive Director of Marshall University's Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (iCenter). Ball has played a pivotal role in enhancing the Chamber’s impact and fostering economic growth in our region during her tenure.

Since taking on the leadership role in February 2022, Ball has played a crucial part in steering the Chamber through significant milestones. She successfully led the organization through a comprehensive strategic planning process, culminating in a five-year plan that outlined 19 strategies and two long-term economic development goals. 89% of these strategies have been completed or are in progress just 20 months into the implementation period, which included a complete rebranding of the Chamber.

"In a short time with remarkable vision and focus, Tricia has revitalized the Chamber, paving the way for continued success and leaving a solid foundation for her successor," shared Barry Burgess, Chair Huntington Regional Chamber's Board of Directors. "I have no doubt the momentum she and her team have created will continue under new leadership. Marshall University is gaining a tremendous talent and I wish her the best."

During her tenure, the Chamber launched Leadership Huntington, a 10-month cohort-based program that connects, develops, and mobilizes more than 20 leaders from various industries. Additionally, she reimagined the Chamber’s Annual Dinner, boosting attendance by 41%. With a “members-first” philosophy and engagement focus, the Chamber also witnessed a 123% attendance increase at their monthly networking events and a 187% attendance increase at their monthly professional development series.

Under her leadership, the Chamber established the Nonprofit Roundtable and significantly expanded the Chamber Ambassador program, fostering collaboration and engagement among local leaders. She also relaunched the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce Foundation and initiated the Greater Huntington Candy Cane Trail, a program designed to promote and incentivize shopping local during the holiday season. In partnership with Kindred Communications, the Chamber also launched a podcast, "In Your Business," creating a platform for local businesses to share their stories.

In addition to these accomplishments, Ball has served as a key advocate for the business community, representing the Chamber on several boards, including the Huntington Area Development Council and Advantage Valley.

“It has been the honor of my professional lifetime to serve as the President & CEO of the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce,” said Ball. “I am thankful for all of the relationships I have been able to build and proud of the work we have been able to do. None of it would have been possible without our staff, Board of Directors, members, and partners and I’d like to extend a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to everyone for their unwavering support.”

Tricia’s last day will be October 31, and she will continue to support the Chamber during the transition. Members of the Chamber's executive committee will serve as the members of the search committee, led by incoming Board of Directors Chair Angie Swearingen. See job description and how to apply.
